    Default Mods for beginners?

I've got an (as yet) unmolested Siggy 2.0t with the Z20NET engine. After raiding the piggy bank, daughters college fund and chopping in the belly button fluff I've got about £1,000.00 to spend on some engine mods.

My problem is.......... I've never worked on vauxhall/saab engines before in my life.

So the question for all you serious petrol heads using the site is this......

With this engine and this money what would you do?

    Thanks guys,

I'm guessing the airbox mod is the caveman special? 35mm holes cut out of the lower airbox cover?

In that case I've looked at etuning remap, pipercross/k&n panel filter then maybe sports cat? I've got the schimry quad exhausts at the back I'm told so don't want to loose the rear box if I can help it.

Nope, the airbox mod is ripping out the cone at the bottom of the airbox. Literally, open the airbox, remove the air filter and underneath it is a small tunnel, grab hold of it and pull hard

Drilling the airbox such as Nige, myself and a few others have done only benefits mapped cars that are running a lot of boost compared to standard and it only has benefits at high revs regardless.

With a grand to play with, I'd say get a decent cat back exhaust on it (you can keep your irmy back boxes with that), change the injectors to the later green ones (as yours is an early model, unless they've already been done) an air filter and a good re-map, it will be a totally different car to drive and you won't be able to stop smiling

I've had mine a short while (2months) and started with the airbox mod with K&N panel plus drilled holes then had the torquingBHP remap
At some point I would like a cat back system, what system did you guys go with?
Also upgraded to Eibach -30mm pro spring kit, irmscher mats and rear blinds as car was already debadged rear and sides with 'i' side badges all = totally different car but now hungry for more power!
