    Default Syron Race 1 Tyres

Went to pick up my GoodYear winter tyres today and got chatting to the guys at the tyre centre.

I need a new set of summer tyres for the Fiat 500 and they recommended I take a look at Syron Race 1 tyres? apparently they are the next 'toyo' type tyre from Germany.

Never heard of them before, but took a look at them and decided to get a set fitted.

So now running Syron Race 1 Tyres on the Fiat as from today

Anyone ever heard of them before?

Here's the 2010 Auto Bild Ultra High Performance Tyre Test

and the Syron Race 1 came last ... dont think I will be sticking them on the VXR then

But I suppose it was up against the premium tyre range

I had never heard of them, it is intersting how, in the test, the Hankooks are up there as a premium tyre! They were heavily critisied on here last week as a useless budget tyre, just shows peoples views are very opinionated and not based on fact!
the Syron's don't look like a summer tyre with those huge rain grooves and small blocks.

ok to be honest, I did have a quick nosey and found more plus reviews than bad( though there isn't many). but to be fair, with any tyre it's what you're using it for and price... I'd happily run around on remoulds if I was tootling around in a metro... but not in the vec...

If they are made by nexen then they can not be that bad. I'm running nexens all round and I find them very good for the price- really cant complain. will have to keep an eye on how the reviews for these go for when i next need new rubber.
I'll be as interested in wear rate and evenness of wear as much as the tests against the absolute best tyrers around.
kepp us posted on how they go on your veccy ;-D

They now have the fastest tyre on Vectra.......in the wet, safe at 150mph, and under full acceleration in the wet.
Clutch slipped before the tyres spun....unheard of in the wet!! seriously unheard of..................thrashed all premium brands.
    from the review:

Comparative Weaknesses - wet performance, dry performance

    Surprisingly they are European manufacture
