    Default Vectra alarms

Hi guys, my alarm goes off at times for no reason and this seems to occur when the weather is hot and the inside of the car warms up in the sun, it's a bog standard alarm fitted to my Vectra, does anyone know if there is there any way to adjust it or make it less sensitive?
    Cheers in advance.

might sounds daft but you may have a fly or something inside the cabin that triggers the motion sensors.

has it happened recently?? if so, then scotland must be having a freak spell of sun and i think i'll be moving from wet london!

try pressing the button on the dash that disables the internal sensors, but i wouldn't suggest making a habit of it though. if you can predict when its going to happen then try, at least you can start eliminating some sources of the problem.

...No flies up here mate, the spiders eat them all, I'll try your Idea about the sensors but can I disable them then lock the car though?

    Cheers mate.

Yes matey you can. There's a button to the right of the stereo head unit with what looks like a man running away. Before you get out of the car, press this button and then get out and lock the car in the usual way.

This button simply disables the internal movement sensors; the rest of the alarm system works as normal.

    HTH.

luckily i'm spider free - the only way i could get rid was to keep breaking the web, sooner or later they'll run out of food and move on!!

it's a nightmare having them, makes the car look uncared for!
