Just got a new towbar fitted and its been giving me a headache. Its using a dedicated wiring system fitted by a professional. It just kept setting off the bulb failure light even though everything was working so the guy came back and changed the module and now when nothing is connected to the electrical output it works fine, however plug something in and then it sets the warning light off again. I thought it might possibly be the new bike rack i had just bought so got that replaced and tried my dads trailer and all are still showing the bulb failure light even though all work, so i have at least checked its not what i plug into it. It seems to occur when you switch the side lights on but then can often go when the brake is pressed. The guy who fitted it said when he replaced the module if it didn't work he would come back and change the wiring see if that works, however i'm wondering if its a Tech2 issue or something? So having the wires etc changed it might not work. Looked in the manual and it says there should be a towing light iluminated when using the indicators to show they are working however i don't get that just simply a bulb failure warning light.
Heading abroad with my bike very soon and will be doing a few thousand miles and can't face having that light coming on and off and the indicators going mad for all those miles can anybody help me? If all else fails can you at least turn off the failure detection system via tech2?
Any help is really appreciated.
