i have just checked on the trip computer and heres the following:

filled the car up had 198 on the range on the (17th)

i now have 172 on the range (today)

    avg speed 31

    trip consumption 1.5 mgal

The range changes constantly according to how you drive :-)

Yep as said above its just a guide....I started a journey with full tank saying 289 mile range.....about 100 miles later it was showing 308 mile range. Also I never let my tank drop below 1/4 but the other week I did, the range said 0 miles for around 15 miles. When I filled up still around 8 litres in tank lol.

After filling up you would have used some of the fuel and the computer uses the instant consumption over the last 5 miles to recalculate the range

I can take my range down to 30 miles with 1/8th left in the tank
The next day if I drive constantly at 50mph the range can then increase to 55 miles
Equally, if I then fill the car it will read 450 miles
However, as soon as I join the motorway it starts dropping and can read 220 miles

I once did a 100 mile round trip and ended the journey with the range showing 40 miles more than when I started - just by driving more economically than the day before.

Yes, we've noticed oddities like that. Range is never going to be 100% accurate as it's always calculating on what you've done, not what you're doing. Consumption to mileage sound OK.
