    confused 2.2DTI engine cuts out

    Hi
    My 2.2 DTI Vectra keeps cutting out at speed, starts again but is dangerous and often.

    Dealer can't find fault, suggested EGR, replaced that, no change. Man in pub suggested unplug airflow sensor which when faulty doesn't give a code?

    Unplugged Airflow sensor, car runs without breaking down but eml on all the time and runs in safe mode. Replaced Airflow meter, problem returns. Flummoxed.

    Any ideas? Need a reliable Vaux / Diesel garage in Notts or Derby or a self help fix

    I've got the same engine and I had the same problem, I'd be doing 70 on the motorway and it would cut out, I'd turn the key and it would start again..so dangerous. I took it to a VX specialist and although they had a TECH2 they couldn't find the problem, when I took it to a main dealer they read the problem straight away. I honestly can't remember now exactly what it was but is was something to do with the inlet manifold. If you haven't done so take it to a main dealer for a diagnostic.
    As I've said on here before, I was told that the diagnostic equipment is only as good as the person reading it, and I certainly found that to be true
