    Default Radiator Leak Advise Please

I am losing water from the bottom of the radiator at a rate of about a pint every 200 miles. Is there something safe i can put in the water for a temporary fix? Is radweld or something like that ok in our cars?

    Thanks

    Paul.

Just keep topping it up until you can get a new radiator fitted. I had the same problem and wouldn't use radweld or similar for fear of blocking the matrix or a fine coolant line.

Iprefer to use a product called Bars Leaks. I used it on a previous car and ran it for almost 2 years with itwith absolutely no problems at all.

Done that as well ran it for months before I could afford a new radiator. It was damaged in an accident. It had at least 4 broken vanes which were bent and crimped back to seal them. I had no choice was miles from nowhere and no mobile phone to phone for help.

Dont use any of it. I had your problem, and every shop i went to,,,, every garage i asked shot me down and sed most sealant products are for older cars, and will cause alot more problems in the future with matrix ect.. just keep topping up the water untill u can afford a new rad. I payed 100 fitted for a valeo one in my 1.8 petrol, My mates garage like so rekon you will be looking at about 150. Hope that helps
