    Default air con

would of posted this in my old thread which got moved to the air con section but it says i don't have the privileges to post in that section :s yet i paid for the full membership :s

anyway, i had the air con regassed and they confirmed that it is the condenser that is knackered. the question is, i've looked on ebay for a new one and there are 2 different ones, one of which has a canister sort of thing attacthed to the side yet both are listed for the 1.9 diesel engine :s which one do i go for?

here are the 2 in question:

this one is the one with a canister sort of thing attached...

and this is the other one....

so which one do i go for? :S

thanks guys and mods could you let me know why i am unable to post in the correct section please?

    thanks

One of them is the dryer/receiver for the aircon system, you dont really need it but most people recommend changing them at the same time because if the system has been empty for a while it could collect water/condensation in it i think....

I bought my new one with one but from this place...

    http://www.autoairconparts.co.uk

comes to £110 inc vat and delivery and thats the one i have on the car now.. The pattern part one on ebay wasnt such a good fit for me and I ended up selling it on.

btw, the thread that got moved I couldnt post on either, think they forgot to set it to 'postable' once moved...

excellent thanks dean vauxhall want the car back, i spoke to someone with common sense and he said that it would be free of charge for them to check the condenser but if i chose for them to replace and it wasn't covered by warranty then they would charge for the work carried out so shall be letting them look at it hopefully next week some time

becare mate, someone elses car was taken in because it would have been 'free of charge' if under warranty (for a squeaking noise) for suspension parts.... Turns out it wasnt covered and they charged £50 for telling us what it wasnt....

front bumper down only, but its a right pig of a job to do if you want to not break your existing one. it comes apart in 3 pieces just a matter of unclipping everything carefully from the back. I had to walk away at one point and come back 5mins later lol.
