Interior tray removal

How do you remove the tray at the bottom of the dash under heater controls, I need to get rid of a wire for an old phone holder. I've tried removing ashtray, fag lighter, and gear surround trim to get access but it still won't budge

Place your fingers on the top of the tray, forcing the tray up and pull at the same time. It will slightly catch the 12V and ashtray, but does come out eventually
