House Insurance - Shop Around

The house Buildings and Contents insurance was due next month,

So shopped around for pricing and saved £133 compared to last years bill

Went with 'More Than' insurance this time which also provides MORE financial cover, legal cover and emergency home assistance (burst pipes etc)

Feel ripped off from last years bill ... but its my own fault as I had been paying by Direct Debit and it auto renews each year, so I never remember to check the costs

Was the same last year mate, think the renewal from Tesco came in at £250, and got a new quote from Esure for around the £150 mark, and as you found I got a higher level of cover too. Buildings, contents, accidental, inside goods outside, shed, bikes etc...

We are with Direct Line and have their top cover.

Every year we go through the farce of them sending a stupid quote which I ignore and instead, 'renew' as a new customer on line. The difference is not a few quid. It's been a couple of hundred some years and has included stuff like free annual family travel insurance which was extra in the renewal quote.

Saved me £300 to date, just buying stuff I would have bought anyway.

I saved £50 by moving from Morethan to LV on home insurance.
They really did me a favour in hiking up my car insurance. I said it's too much, reduce it or I move both car and home insurance away from you. They did a token reduction on the car insurance £30, not enough. So a better deal for both with LV and total saved was £120.
It doesn't pay to stay loyal to one company, always shop around.

got my quote of direct line,for £450.rang them up,and was told they can do it for £250 . seriously going to go through every bill this year
