    Unhappy MOT failed

    Hi guys,

Put my sri in for the MOT today and it failed It failed on both brake lines from the front of the car all the way to the back. How much am i looking at to get this done? Never had to get this done before.

Also failed on head light aim, does any one now how to correct this, i know its just a screw, just wondered about the height of the beam?

    Thanks

I noticed those lines! they get the full force of water/salt & all the road sh*t thrown at them, fortunate for me i greased them front to back to save them hopefully!, do the same when there replaced, ps most friendly mot 'ers would do it for you on the quiet but its all down to where you go.

yes the ones on car are steel and when replaced there be copper. copper will last loads longer then steel no need to grease them id say as copper lasts years

Were you advised of this on any previous MoT or services?

Most MoT stations will advise that they can perform this for £x amount, typically £10 to £15
You could go to all the hassle of preparing a chart and aligning the headlights yourself, but it is much easier with the correct equipment

If both headlights are low, you haven't just left the headlight adjuster on the headlight switch on something other than zero have you?

This is the first time the brake lines have been mentioned, had a friend look and he said they look really bad, said he could do it for £120, and he'll take my car and drop it back, does this sound ok?? at least its hassle free.
