gsi exhaust system onto an sri

hi guys

got my hands on a gsi exhaust system, middle box back which has the 'y' piece built in, and then the two back boxes

got my 53 plate 2.2 petrol sri on the ramp this mornin to have it put on and the systems are totally different. the silencer on the 2.2 is twice as long as the 3.2

anyone know how i can get the two back boxes onto my single system please???

do you mean the centre pipe is longer???

if so, then it's a cut and shut time.. you'll have to alter the pipes to suit.

the pipe lengths and stub lengths of the tail pipes do vary across the vectra range, they aren't all a straight swap.

the silincer is shorter on the gsi, have since phoned dealer - the gsi has a connecting pipe from the manifold to the silencer, whereas the sri has a short flexi hose connecting the silencer to the manifold. if that makes sense.

dont really want to do the cut and shut. think its time for re-sale. gutted.

if i where to cut and shut my existing centre section wth the y piece from the gsi centre section - can anyone suggest cost / a place to do it local to shropshire please?

someone with a single exhaust must have bought a second back box and got round this somehow!

i used them(ATS) when i had my vectra B, they cut and fitted a universal backbox and they only charged me £30, but it does very greatly between different depots

that doesnt sound too bad, ive found one even closer to me so will give them a call tomorrow to try and sort it.

been looking for the twin setup ever since i got the car so i dont really want to throw in the towel!
