    Default egr

    gonna clean egr out this next week when i service the motor cdti 150 is it worth fitting that reducing plate if so any probs with it and gains etc pros and cons and where can iget parts and new gaskets from cheers

    I blanked mine completely as I had issues.

    Pros - car is more responsive and inlet manifold remains clean from soot.

    Cons - Exhaust gas temperatures are higher and put the turbocharger bearings under strain, leading to possible premature failure. And shouldn't be done on a car with a DPF.

    Yep what he said.

    I just got myself a new gasket set and cleaned it out.
    After I did that I took the throttle body off as well and gave that a clean, that wasn't too bad.
    Worth doing both together whilst your at it.
    Result much smoother and more responsive.
    For the £4 it costs for the gaskets, worth doing every year at least.

    Not exactly where I got mine from, but these are the same. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Vectr...item415ac57269
    For some reason the ebay seller I got mine from a Vauxhall dealer hasn't got any listed.
    Alternatively just type in EGR gasket into the search and a few will pop up for the 150 CDTi engine.
