    Default parking fine

me and a mate was in a mcdonalds restaurant the other week and was sat inside eating and chatting/using the wifi and i now have a fine through from a private firm saying i have a £50 to pay, i paid it and spoke to my mate and he said you don't have to pay them as watchdog looked into them and said they are unenforceable. i called my bank and they said as soon as the payment is taken off the card i am to call them and they will challenge the payment to get my money back (he reckons 99.9% of challenges they win) so what are my chances of getting my money back? after my friend said to me about it a checked it out and everywhere reckons the fines from places like mcdonalds should be ignored. as does the video on youtube from watchdog

how long are they saying you were there Steve ??

you need to go back and Video the signs saying that there is an enforcable car park - with a time limit = was the cameras the APNR type

if your banks fighting your case there is a great chance to get the payment back !!

there are signs but everywhere on the net say you don't have to pay as it's a private car park so would be thrown out of court on the basis of, if someone parked on your drive, even though it is your private property you can't fine them. which makes sense so fingers crossed my bank will get my money back

I had one from wickes before, I was in wickes for over 90 minutes, got a fine through. I wrote them a letter saying I was in the shop the whole time and I was not paying it. Received a letter a few weeks later saying the fine had been dropped

yeah they aren't legit anyway as its a private car park, found loads of info on the net, they threaten to take you to court if you don't pay but the court papers they send are fake with the intentions of getting you to pay. bunch of W*****s!!
