    Default vxpenfold's ICE Thread

Having been massively inspired by Ian Highlander's install and thread/s after the brentwood weekend and the purchase of some subs from him ive decided to get on with my ice install, and do a thread about it

ok its gonna be a slow process and nowhere near as informative as Ian's but atleast everyone can see what im doing wrong and tell me how to do it right

so here goes my voyage of discovery into the world of In Car Entertainment

First off the way things are atm, its pretty lazily installed and just floats around my boot, on occasion turning over which isnt ideal so something has to be done, the kit isnt even mine its on loan from my sister

these are the badboys i got off of Ian

and ive just won myself one of these on ebay for £70 its an alpine mrp-f600 4 channel which im undecided what to use for (recommendations anyone?) but couldnt turn it down for the price

    http://www.alpine-electronics.co.uk/.../mrp-f600.html

well comments welcome and hope you enjoy laughing at my attempts lol and maybe someday it will turn out to be a decent system

Nice find mate, that amp if you run it bridged in two channel mode will be perfect for those subs.

Will be watching this thread with interest.

got a wee question for the audio gurus, ive just installed the new amp to test it on the sub ive got atm and realised that the power cable im using is from 480w max amp wiring kit, think its 10awg (whoops) so wanna run a new power cable but thinking ahead to when i do the full install i was gonna run a big enough cable to handle that but im wondering what size cable i will need cos im looking at having the 800w running the subs probably a couple of 200w ish 2 channel amps running the door speakers and an active crossover ?

    will i need 0awg?

any help will be greatly appreciated

Yep go for the biggest to be on the safe side, so 0awg from the battery to a multiway fuse block in the boot then 2 or 4 awg to the amps should cover it.
