Wouldnt expect much change from that right enough, worth calling VX first and finding out. There is one for sale in the parts for sale section, then id guess about £100 to fit and code via Tech2.

Looking at between £450 and 500 for a replacement and recoding by VX.

If i was you i would take the surround off the steering wheel, remove the CIM plug, clean with a contact cleaner, and likewise with the ABS plug.

Others including myself have done this when a suspected CIM had failed and since then (touch wood) all has been good.

Takes 10 mins to do both.. There is a How2 in the How2 section for the procedures.

I don't have the car its in the garage at the mo (not a VX garage) when they plugged it in the car came up with 30 odd fault codes all relating to communication faults.

They have reprogrammed it, wiped all the codes and have the car plugged into a computer which will be monitored throughout the day to see if the codes return or drops out.

    Just looked; http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...ghlight=module

I need to clean the CIM plug behind the steering wheel myself, not tried it yet but as my clocks dying is more frequent than ever I reckon the module is actually kapuut! Ebay do second hand ones tech2'd out of the old vehicle for £50, would these be reliable??

As mentioned above, I have one for sale in the for sale section. I bought it off eBay as my Cruise Control was caput. CC started working the day after I hit "Buy it now" and has worked ever since so I didn't need it in the end.

Just make sure your codes match mine or any one on ebay you are thinking of buying.

Mine is also listed on eBay with a "or best offer"

What code will that be exactly, as I'm eventually going to end up buying one.

Also regards tech2, what does the garage do to "install" it?
