Crankshaft Pulley £80 is OEM equivalent

Vectra 2.2 DTi elegance ( 52 plate )

Ive just put the new crankshaft pulley on the vectra today. I bought it from vauxhall world parts and Ive been to vauxhall to weigh the OEM pulley...The exact same weight...
It works ....No noise on tick over..No noise or vibration through the revs..Perfect just Perfect

So ive saved about £100 on the parts and more on labour charges...Easy job really with an impact gun....So save your money ....Im one happy bunny.....Tosh

I want to thank you for your advice, Im sorry I didnt do it earlier that way you would have been better off. Anyhoo, How did you manage to get the bolt off in the end...Ohh I remember now, you took it to a garage 50 yards up the road...Tosh

Quite honestly I don't know how anyone would get it off without an impact gun (and a good one at that)
I jammed the ring gear but even with a scaffold tube it wasn't going to shift, anymore force would certainly have broken a tooth or worse.
Actually after the stretch bolt I found getting the belt tensioner back on one of the most difficult things. Either way doing it yourself deserves one of these!

BTW, did you leave the undertray off? I found my subframe really rusty.

Funny enough I struggled with the belt tensioner until I realised that the 17mm nut on the tensioner is for pulling it back to get the belt on...

Ive got a snap on air impact and had no problem what so ever, Even I was surprised, I thought I would struggle even with that. I suppose im one of the lucky ones..

As for the under tray, I just bent it back and jammed it on the floor no problem...Tosh

it is good to read some good reviews for a change , my car is going in for a crank seal on saturday and im worried i will need a pully after he takes the old 1 off and its good to see i dont need to get the oem 1 , lets hope he dose'nt damage it

Which model have you got?
If it's a dti and you've got a few miles on the clock it's well worth having the pulley replaced if you intend to keep the car for some time.
The one Tosh bought is obviously fine, just don't make my earlier mistake and get a cheaper one, unless you want your car to idle like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! (that's showing my age)
