Default Vectra C - Rear Springs

    Hi,
I am new on here and own a 1.9CDTi which I am ver happy with.
I am currently on my second set of coil springs on the rear due to me carrying a fair bit of weight about in the back.
Can I get some uprated springs for the rear that increases the ride height slightly so that it is not obvious I have a boot full?
What springs do the police use on their cars, cos they carry loads of weight but cars never look low at rear.
    Cheers for your help guys.

Most people have changed their coil springs to Eibach springs. They lower the car 30mm or 15 mm if you have an sri model.
They are much stiffer than standard vx springs also.

To stop the rear end drooping down you can buy some rubber inserts from Halfords that you place in between the coils of the spring. I have used these when towing my caravan and work well.

You may want to look into the self levelling shocks that can bought from VX. They aren't cheap though

restricting a single coil on the spring from moving will put undue stress on the rest of it so making it more likely to snap. its a bit like cutting a bit of the spring off in your shed to lower and stiffen the suspension.
also may invalidate your insurance as it is a mod- and a bit heath robinson at that. speak to vx and lesjofors if vx aren't very helpfull. or try replacing them with the vxr rear springs- from lesjofors- as they're a bit more rigid me thinks.

you can also buy heavy duty springs for the rear, as used by the emergency services & quite a few folk who do a lot of towing
