question before removing 2.2 direct egr

could anybody please tell me how much coolant I need to drain before unbolting the egr on my 2.2 direct.
As my car doesn't throw up any fault codes to explain why the spanner light is on and in limp home mode, thought I would take the egr valve out tomorrow as my intake manifold was full of sludge. so cleaned throttle body, took out as much sludge as I could from intake manifold so left with checking egr. before putting into the stealers

when i cleaned mine i just unbolted it and then topped up when i put it back together.

Just top it back up to the required level.

i cant remember how much exactly but i dont think it was much, a pint maybe.

By the VX stuff and mix 50/50 and you cant go wrong.

PS, carb cleaner and an Italian tune
