This is a great forum, lots of good advice!
I didn't manage to get the parts for last weekend but I did manage to get my hands on a TIS. Looks like the plugs aren't due until 120,000 or 8 Years, is that right?
When I spoke to the guy in the parts shop, he said it has Platinum instead of Irridiums so I guess maybe they do last longer but are they still OK to use after the remap?
I've been looking at the remaps and I believe someone on this forum (can't remember who) has it setup through the sports button (i.e. Sport button off = aprx 250BHP / Sport button on = aprx 280BHP) anyone know how I can do this, I do have the connector for the sports switch but no button... yet.
Also done this week:
Fixed the rear electric window that wasn't working - faulty mechanism
Debaged the car completely - now want a nice irmmy front grill
Noticed the handbreak cable is very loose - will have to have a look at that one while I'm doing the service
mines had a remap and is on the original plugs.
did someone mention a remap ??? lol ..
Just been reading this post and decided to have a look at opieoils.co.uk - my local part shop wanted £18/plug for the platinums but I can get the denso toughs for about £14. should I just bite the bullet and change them now? I'll probably do the remap within the year.
having changed the plugs on mine at about 30k they definetly wont last as long as they state
and irridium is harder than platinum
get them changed now and you will notice that the car feels smoother
the sports button option wont work on a Signum as there specific to the VXR as it also stiffens up the supension on the IDS dampners
unfortunately you get full power all the time
0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
I changed the plugs twice in one year and had only covered 46000 lol. I had new plugs fitted when I bought the car then onced mapped I changed them to NGK IR's. But thats just me . :-)
Doh! just realised it's the Traction control button that's wired up not the sport button! Oh well, looks like it'll be on all the time then.
I think I'll just do the plugs anyway, I'm going to order them from opieoils, any recommendations between NGK/Denso/Denson tough?
Are you guys just using the recommended grade of oil after the mods?
