    Default coolant warning light

    once upon a time....
    -coolant warning light came on - so topped up expansion tank with 100ml
    -coolant light on again - but when opened cap depressurised to 1" over cold mark
    - radweld in and into local garage to pressure test - all ok
    - vxl service mgr reckoned might be sensor faulty
    - drive 10 miles warning light on. stop for fuel - coolant level down. continue 30 miles light off.
    - currently engine cold - but level under. uno cap - expands to over. drive 40 miles and goes under 1" and warning light on.

    So....doesnt seem to be loosing coolant - system seems to be getting pressurised??? and pushing level below???? ideas please
    Is it ok to just keep unscrewing cap to release pressure???
    Changing the car on 1st July so panicking if it will last

    Possibly just the thermostat or water pump needs replacing

    Keep a close eye on the temperature guage.

    temperature gauge seems fine - sits at 85 and creeps to 87ish in traffic. Hasnt hit 90....yet

    You'll find it can reach about 92ish in traffic for prolonged periods.

    My guess is the thermostat is sticking, or the water pump is worn

    Or get head checked I had similar symptoms to this an had headgasket failure
