confused FIXED my starter motor myself but still have the other problem I need to fix....

    Hi all,

Yeah so you've probably seen my threads about me and my starter motor well my friend let me down for the 95th time today so sapped him off and gave up with him...fed up of being let down constantly.

I couldn't believe it but I actually managed to change the starter motor myself from above the engine with a few spanners and no sockets! a 13, a 10 and a 14 is what i needed to get the job done

    AND!!

I disconnected the battery expecting to lose the radio code (didn't get one with the car) and hooked it back up and it did a 'search' and hey presto we're back in business!!

Had some troubles along the way though - took quite a while for the diesel to come through etc. but got there in the end!!

NEVER AM I LETTING HER RUN OUT OF DIESEL AGAIN!!

    2 stroke tomorrow!!

So here's my next problem on the list to fix....

So I boot it, foot down (lets say along the slip road to join the motorway) and when doing so all of a sudden the car stop accelerates and slows down for 3-4 seconds (my foot still down to the floor at this point) and the traction control light comes on. Then it will pick up again (traction control light still staying on) and I'll continue along then if I hit say 80mph (whatever the speed) and ease off so as not to accelerate even more the car throws your neck forward as it stops accelerating and slows again...

Sorry its so difficult to explain without being there and driving it!

Anyone got any ideas at all? really need to get this one sorted as its driving me round the bend!

    Thanks,

    James

If the TC light is coming on, it will cut acceleration, as it thinks there is wheelspin. Dirty sensor somewhere?

My old Audi A4 TDI did this, to the point of almost stopping, until I stopped and started engine. A clean-up of the sensors sorted it on that car.

Not sure where they are on the Vectra, as I've had no bother with them

But on my old Audi, all I did was remove each wheel, one at a time, and put my pressure-washer to area where the caliper/disc/spring, etc are. Got all behind, underneath, etc. Loads of muck came off, and I mean LOADS!! Worked a treat though and had no more bother with it.

I assume the Vectra will have the sensors in a similar area??
