    confused what to try..............................

i've noticed that my car (1.9 CDTi 120) is VERY sluggish at low revs.

    example:

approach a roundabout, without needing to stop. change down to second to negotiate the roundabout. the revs come down to 1500 rpm @ 15/20 mph. when i accelerate to exit the roudabout the revs start to drop the car slows and it almost stalls

is there anything that needs replacing/cleaning/modding first?

    or is this normal?

    thanks Matt

I believe the usual answer for this sort of behaviour is :

    1) Check hoses for leaks.

    2) Clean Boost Sensor.

    3) Clean EGR Valve.

If that fails, come back and ask again.

I had this, well sought of, lack of low down power.

I cleaned the EGR valve, it was completely blocked. I'd already done the boost sensor a few months ago. A very noteable improvement, and it's alot smoother pulling away at those junctions roundabouts in second gear.
I'm going to clean the boost sensor again and also take the throttle body off and give that a clean. Then run some of that Wynns EGR 3 cleaner stuff through and see how it goes.
