Diesel pump knock

2005 2.0dti
I had a new diesel pump fitted 6 months ago, I am currently having a new turbo fitted and while in, VX have found a knocking coming from the diesel pump at about 2,500rpm but apparently it tends to go when the engine is warm.
The pump was taken off to investigate and there was some oil in it, the pump was sent to get tested by Bosch and there is no fault so they wont replace it, which is fair enough. The pump has been flushed out and is getting fitted again tomorrow. VX are replacing the injector seals as precaution as this is the only place where oil can enter the pump, is this correct?
They have said the oil could be from when it was first changed as oil tends to get dumped in when the pump fails.
Would oil in the pump cause it to knock?
After reading positive threads on here regarding adding 2-stroke oil to diesel I have been and bought some, along with some Millars, ready for when the Veccy is back but am now worried I will do more harm than good.
I can't afford any more repairs and I can't afford to P/X the car either.

well diesel is oil based and loads of ppl have bein adding oil to there diesel BUT old oil has loads of crap in it so id say old oil wouldnt do it any good but i cant say yes or no im just quessing old oil would not be good for it
