Default Time to drop my trousers and bend down in front of Mr Osbourne

Yes, it's car tax time again...

£210 this year because I drive a gas guzzling 1.8 petrol...

Quick question. Is there anywhere I can get the manufacturers statistics for the CO2 output of my car.

Curious as the DVLA renewal notice says it's 177g/km, but Parkers says 175g/km, which would put it in the next tax bracket down...

Anyone got any tips for me?

Need to save money as it's insurance time in a few weeks and I know I'm going to be royally shafted as usual.

Got mine through yesterday, if you think your bad off - £253 for 6 months and £460 for the year! Might have to sell the mrs if I want to keep the car longer than 6 months lol.

My tax came up for renewal on the VXR end of MAY 2011.. £440... So I SORN the car

I'm saving £36.66 tax every month I'm not using it (my Fiat 500 is £30 for the year !!).... and then I'll renew it again in a couple of months to keep it ticking over.

I'm close to my insurance yearly mileage quota so it needs a rest for a bit

Something seems very strange here. I've just looked at vxr online and some of the chaps with the 255 and 280 vecs have only payed £445 a year to tax theres in this is in the last couple of days!! it seems to be all over the place! Why am I paying £460?
