confused My cdti keeps cutting out as soon as i past 3000rpm exactly??

Guys ont he way home from work this morning my motor kept cutting out and dying everytime i tried to past 3000rpm. I then had to come to a stop and turn the key again. When i did this it started normally and drive fine until i got to 3000 rpm again exactly which would cause it to cut out once again..
Very odd! Never had this before in any other motor!

Anyone got any clues as to what might be up here as my car has had the management light circuit cut so i get no warning lights as such to indicate a fault This was done by the owner before me

Seems odd that it drives perfectly well until the point it hits 3000 rpm exactly

    Cheers rich

not quite sure why you'd buy a car that had been messed with in such a way mate , previous owner is an idiot clearly , so what else has he done to it !? needs to go on a scanner in the first instance anyway

Surely there's not just one wire going into the fault light? As that one wire would have to connect to all of the parts it watches over. Id want to get the clocks out and have a look at what he's done, and rectify that problem first.
I'm sure there'll be someone local to you who can offer to help with scanning for faults.

Already had the 3rd injector wiring issue last yr guys, and the 4th lol This is different anyhow. Only thing i can think of is i just fueled up about an hour before this all started so im wondering if the fuel filter is blocked or something!! Would explain the reason why the car cuts out under demand i think!!!

The use of a code reader would be a benifit and in the current situation of not having the light it will be well worth the £50 ish investment

Ps, i also have no egr on the car as it was removed and blocked off! ( i believe this is why the dash lamp was killed) Cover up the fault Which the missing egr would show!! The egr fault shows on the scan all the time!

If you have a box or remap, that could be a fuel pressure issue. The crank sensor, Boost sensor, MAF sensor...

Is it shutting off completely or just going into limp mode?

Right check this out! Firstly i got the AA out who were baffled as there was no codes to read at all other than the egr fault code which has always been there due to it being blocked off! Also, whilst looking i found that the small vaccum hose that sits up the front had completely snapped of at the small metal joiner inside! Silly me thought id found the issue and cut back the hose and refitted it nice and tight but guess what?? no different to the drive!!! Then the next thing made me almost blow my lid! Thought is check the fuel filter in the engine bay and got a wicked supprise ( NO FILTER INSIDE) WTF!! Now this isnt good is it?? Now what im left with is a car that starts and drives as normally for about 2 mins then cuts out dead like theres no fuel at all. Then it wont start unless left alone for around ten minutes in which case it will start spot on and drive for another 1/4 mile till it dies and wont start again till left for ten minutes!!
AA guy seems to think my fuel pump in the back set area my be fooked or blocked with crap! He explained that when left alone , the crap is dropping down the fuel line so the car starts but then after a short drive , its picking the crap back up and blocking the pump! All i know is right now , without a fault cose ect! It seems like a guessing game!

I would put the EGR valve back on at some point if you manage to sort out the other issues
