Default Good deed done for my Mum

My Mum's 02 Corsa (only 36k on the clock from new!) had a rear fog light broken for sometime and the M.O.T was coming round. Was not sure it was a failure but it needed replacing anyhow.

Well I got a shock when the garage said 75 quid for the part and labour.

I said to mum, I can do this for you as im always changing / modding things on my Vec and a corsa should be no problem for me.

Went Knebworth, Herts VX Parts Dept. They as always helped me out (Good bunch of lads there) and had the part in stock for 17 quid. Done deal.

Took my mums car home. Took me a while to work out how to get to the rear fog. Yep the rear bumper had to be removed, good old VX. Was not too bad but as I didn't have a rachet on hand I had to use a screw driver with attachments to get at the torx and nuts. That mean't removing both rear wheels twice. Once to undo the things then again to do em up. I didn't have axle stands only a Jack. Yes I know, how to do it the hard way

Took me about 2 hours from start to finish but my mum was very happy when it passed the M.O.T with flying colours.

Saved quite a bit of money for my Mum (She is an OAP now, with a bus pass ) and had lots of fun working on a different car for a change. How I ever ended up working in I.T I don't know.

The Mrs has a corsa, they are like the macarno of cars her`s is in several carnations of unbuilt every weekend and back together for monday morning.

wouldnt try half the jobs on the Vec with out doing a test run on the corsa first :-)

They are also over engineered like the 6 screws that need removing to change the rear light bulbs.

Aye to that but then where is the fun if it was only 2 screws

Hope your GF's/Wife's car is back in one large bit for next monday

EDIT : I need to fit the rear interior light this weekend into the Vec. You couldn't do a dry run on your ladies corsa for me could you .....

Looks like this is going to have to be plan B, The corsa failed its MOT in very spectaculer fashion so instead will be in many bits this weekend now sick as can be.
