    Default rear pads sticking on??

does anyone else have an issue with what i think is sticking brake pads? the car feels like it is dragging, when going down a hill and putting the car into neutral the car slows down not coasting quicker, and the rear discs seem to get very hot

Mine did this. Scrubbed a set of rear pads in 9000 miles. Turned out to be the handbrake adjuster....

change the calipers buddy - mine did this - was the handbrake that was stuck on!
managed to find 2 rear calipers from a breakers yard for £50 nicker..

The rear calipers are the same for hatch's, saloons and estates

    Hope you get on well

Don't go buying anything until you've stripped it down. Take the caliper off and try screwing the piston in. If it goes in and out easily the caliper is not seized. Clean the pad slides and lubricate with copper grease.

Next port of call is to remove the rubber slides for the caliper. The caliper can corrode and pushe the rubber out meaning the won't slide.

I did the above with mine and saved myself 60 odd quid

I'm having this issue, callipers not seizing, but locks at one side when hamdbrake is applied and will not release, the spring and replacement spring doesn't seem enough to pop off the parking brake, if I disconnect the brake cable however it all seems loose and springs open...

    Where should I start?
