Default Been here a while but.... Hi

Well been here quite a while now. And realised I haven't introduced the veccy.
So story of my vectra. Bought it back in January from eBay. As a spares or repairs. With various faults biggest being head gasket failure.
Seemed like a great idea at the time little did I no at time there's little to no info on the v6 engine and Vauxhall don't like giving out info.

So anyway got that headgasket done over a matter of weeks spending a couple of hours every sat on it.

    It's a great car. Very comfortable and I'm glad a found v6
Now sat on 106k am hoping to run it a long while yet.
Here's some pics sorry there isn't any better ones for time being a can't upload then off my phone

Started to remove all plastics and electrics etc drive soon looked like a scrap yard

Some photos of stripping it down

After long graft heads finally off

No 6 cylinder had water in there and gasket was split

Heads where taken for pressure testing and skimming
Front head was found to be slightly warped. so all ready fit after skimming

Engines all built and running passed MOT after needing new rear upper arms and a coil spring but seems all these a vec cs weak points an a common problem. I've now done about 4k and drive about 700 mile a weekend and car does it no problems.
    Looking forward to modding.
    Thanks for looking
    Adam

Absolutely great car. Looking foward to modding it

It was a but daunting at first as was first head gasket ive done on my own. Ive done a couple of landrover ones before. But this was easy enough, Just get a bad for the back from leaning right over doing rear head lol
A think book time for that job is 14 hours :O

The hardest part was I started stripping in January. So remembering where everything went again in march wasn't so easy lol

Was my first timing belt change to.
So it could have been an expensive learning curve lol but it's good driving round in something I've fixed

It does feel great. I've learnt v6 parts are expensive though lol
