    Default Boot light fuse number?

Going to fit some LED's into the boot today, However I am rather courteous around electrics so I would rather take the fuse out before cutting into wires, so does anyone know what number fuse it is?

When I soldered my LED's to to the boot light circuit I ended up blowing one of the fuses, which was fuse Fuse 12 "Battery Control Unit" on the passenger side of the dash (15A fuse)

    Hope that helps Ginge

Good luck and don't forget the pics

    Yep, shorted it twice lol

The led strips lights I bought of ebay (from china) had no identifying mark to tell which was positive or negative so when swapping wires round it sparked a couple of times and fortunatly blew the fuse (thankfully nothing else lol)

Yep same problem as what I had found on mine Ginge so it threw me a little but got there in the end (cheap stuff from China I suppose lol)

Logic should have told me to check across the battery terminals first to find which was the +'ve and -'ve wire instead of twisting to boot light wiring and shorting the fuses lol (too impatient lol)

I have just tested them on the boot light in my car and they are labelled wrong lmao. However, it did not blow the fuse.

    Copper is positive lol.

What else does fuse 12 control?
