Just thought I'd post a little thread about the Parrot MKi9100 - a positive one!
For anybody wanting to get handsfree + a music input to a CD30 in your car then this is the way forward!
I had some bonusbonds from work so I got it supplied by Halfrauds (it can be found cheaper elsewhere!) and installed from them, I tend to break stuff, if they broke it then the problem was theirs, not me sitting in the car crying while the cabin fills with smoke or the roof lining falls out.
The system is quick and easy to set up, and update if need be. The call quality on the unit is brilliant from both in the car and the person you are talking to can hear you very well too. When it comes to music playback I was expecting there to be issues with the quality, volume and power from the unit but I am presently surprised!
Unless you are a massive audio freak with your car then the sound coming through the standard speakers is as good as it is (maybe better) than coming from the CD30. The unit streams Spotify over Bluetooth without a problem and the controls on the unit work with it as well. It if course also takes the iPod connector input which overrides the iPod application on the device (my only gripe) and a normal jack input for standard MP3 players.
As said the only gripe is the unit taking over the iPod application - the only way you can choose music is through the unit itself, which can be a bit of a pain. Luckily we worked out how to go through it by letters instead of scrolling through it!
My only other slight issue with it is the ingition has to be in pos.2 for it to work, this is not a flaw of the unit, more likely Vauxhall's electronics, but I do not know.
So, all in all, this is a briliant unit. You can pick them up for not too much money, and with a bit of knowhow install it yourself. You will need a SOT-122 cable which will run you about £20 - this is for a 2008 SRi with the CD30 it may be different for other models so I would recommend checking.
Any questions and I will answer them, but I have also put a picture in just so you know roughly what it could look like!
