Default How to remove plastic plate underneath engine?

Big shock on motorway today when that plastic plate underneath the engine came loose... Could fix it temporarily on the spot but now wonder if it is easy to remove completely myself or should I leave that to a trained mechanic?. Anyone any advise? Obviously, I need to get another one from vx (any idea about price?).

why would you need to get another one? ..if its just came loose then its only a few screws...or is it broken

One part snapped off (driver side), passenger side might be repairable. Will have a look tomorrow morning to see if it isn't as bad as it first looked. Thanks!

The centre hatch is held on by 5 large fasteners, and the undertray itself is held on by 10 Torx bolts (8 underneath and 1 in each wheelarch).

If it's just the centre catch that's loose, it's probably because the screws weren't tightened up enough - you have to turn them until they pop into place otherwise they just come loose. If it's the whole undertray that's loose, it might be some of the Torx bolts or they've got pulled through the plastic of the undertray.

Thanks, yes, you were right. Easy job, needed some new self tapping screws and washers but it sits nice and tight underneath the car again, thanks!
