Default just had a test drive

we have a had an extened 3 day test drive of the insignia
    the car was-
insignia sri nav vx-line cdti 160 5 door hatchback
    colour-carbon flash
as it was the vx-line option it came with the lower front and rear bodykit along with the skirts
sat on 19's wearing 245/40x19 goodyear eagle F1 tyres not much road noise extremely good tyres
also fitted was the exceptional adaptive headlights which when on auto dip themselves when entering a lit up area or on coming traffic
    tunnel detection also
the sounds were provided via a DAB RADIO and a nav 500 mp3 stereo inc bluetooth
with usb and aux in fitted inside the arm rest
climate control really good especially when in auto mode perhaps a little loud when first switched on as the fan is running at its highest speed to cool the cat down but then slows and you dont hear it after that
also fitted were front and rear park sensors which were good as you cant see either end
boot size was good longer than the vec c
the drivers seat was electric with plenty of adjustment for all shapes and sizes
the steering wheel also has good adjustment for reach and rake
i particulary liked the wrap around ****pit feel and the piano black inserts looked good but will show every greasy finger that come into contact with them
in the back the center arm rest opens out to reveal 2 drinks holders and some storage suitable for dvds game dics etc to keep the peeps happy
rear legroom was good but as i like my seat as far back as i can for straight legs it was a little less behind me but plenty behind the passenger seat
heating and cooling vents are supplied for the rear seat passengers along with 12volt power outlet(also 2 in the front)

the engine pulled well and was not too noticeable for a diesel
last time i drove a diesel engined vehicle it had daf on the front of it
the in gear acceleration was really good plenty of torque
in 6th 80mph =2100rpm,i found that around 40mph you had to drop into 5th
but on motorway driving and you need to pull out and away it will do this quite easilly
after about a 200 mile drive over the 3 days it averaged 50.3 mpg
the electronic handbrake took some getting used to as you dont need to release it to move away also the hill start assist is also something to get used to when you come to a stop the brakes apply for around 5 seconds to stop you rolling the release it caught me out a few times as you have to give it a little rev to release it if still applied you will stall it if you just let the clutch out as the brake is still applied
over all very impressed and will be talking to our local vxl dealer and an order will be going in for a sept delivery
the car we had was a bussiness demonstrator and every options box was ticked
    here a few pics

    Nice!

You can adjust the initial fan speed for the CC. I think it's in the comfort settings somewhere.

Are you going for the Sports tourer or is the hatch' big enough?
