    Default intake manifold/swirl valves

My linkage has fallen off however the only reason I know is I looked. No EML, no limp mode etc. Should I just ignore until it actually becomes an issue? is it likely to?

Its probably been off for ages and won't have affected performance. Not an immediate threat but left untreated the bearing of the flaps could collapse and they could fall into the engine. Don't know how long I drove with mine off though but the manfold was in a sorry state.

In that time it may gradually start to cause a boost leak to occur as the flap bearings were allowing the air/oil/soot to escape hence the mess of the manifold.

The manifold and swirl bar (yeah they're seperate) are about £185-£200 in total for the parts, and another £300 to have them fitted as it's a big job.

Here is my thought for today, mine I think is losing a little boost as there is now crap accumulating around the holes, bar still connected and working. However, if I was in your situation, and your car is running ok, could it be possible to try and seal the three pots (not the one that is motorised) with some sort of sealant of try and reduce the gas escaping? Or would this simply be farting against thunder because without stripping it all down, you could never acheive a seal on any of the pots?
