According to a Large 4wd main dealer a 07 FSH and honestly mint vec is worth £1600 and the rear tyres at 4mm are in need of urgent changing! I couldnt get out the door fast enough!

I was tempted to px my 57 reg Sri Nav XP Estate in when i recently ordered my new range rover sport, My old vec (that i also ordered new) had only done 7200 miles and I was offered an insulting £6500 for it by the LR dealers, mind you, the VX dealers i originally ordered the car from also only offered me £6500 for it, ended up selling it to a company similar to WBAC.com for a good price..

Sell it privately, then go looking for a 4x4..

Come on fellas, the £1600 offered as the trade-in price was the starting point for negotiations, on the off chance the OP was naive enough to say "oh well, if that's all it's worth, go on then...". Insist on more and he would have eventually given it. Similarly when you ask for money off of the car you're buying from him, he'll start with "The price is as shown on the screen sir". Half an hour later and you'll have negotiated £900-1300 off of it.

Trade in is usually a minimum of £1500 below the actual value, £2000 in some cases. They factor in a service, valet and anticipated depreciation for the time on their forecourt, and finally the balance from sale is the profit.
