was thinking of ripping mine out cos it looks rather tatty.
And thought I would get a little more engine noise aswell.

Small hard brush will bring it back up if you want to make it look better. This is the kind of brush I use on mine if it gets dirty.

Yes and I would imagine the bonnet would become much hotter. Will attract the cats (scratch scratch).

It's there to protect the bonnet, take it off and it will discolour and possibly deform over time.

Cats ain't a problem out here lol. Being black it gets pretty darn hot after the suns been on it for a while anyway.

Wouldn't think it would deform from the heat. Removed the one from my cougar and replaced with mirror vinyl to tidy it up didn't have a problem with that one over time. Would imagine it's there to help with noise suppression as well tho would it not?

My m8 had a black Rx8,he removed the lining and he ended up with white spots on the bonnet due to the heat.

Not sure if all Vectras come with the lining, but on other Vauxhalls the lower spec models don't have one. They don't have discolouration problems with the paint, nor any deforming either. Can't see it being a problem if it's taken off other than increased noise, and in winter condensation falling from the metal bonnet onto the engine.
