    Cool 3.2 V6 or 2.0 Turbo

    Alright ladies and gentlemen,

I need some of your input as I just sold my Vectra Diesel last night and looking into getting something a bit quicker now.

I'm looking into the vectra or signum 3.2 v6 or the 2.0 turbo.

What are your thoughts on what I should get as i'm struggling to decide as I can tune both of them a little but there is that much stuff on the market for them.

I'm also thinking of going back to an Astra Turbo as I loved my old one, and is easy to get to 300bhp, but sort of want the comfort of the vectra.

Also please don't just say get the 2.8 turbo as it won't be happening

    Cheers

    Vehicle : Opel Signum

    Trim : Sport

    Engine : 3.0 CDTI

    Year : 12/03

    Default

I've driven a remapped Vectra Estate 2.0T and it was an absolute animal Loved the punch and the go of the 2.0T. I imagine the 3.2 to be a "lazier" engine with a huge top speed, not that the 2.0T is slow in any way.

I think I would go for the 3.2 myself because of the V6 thing

I love the kick of the turbo, but i'm unsure how big a kick you can get out of these as with my astra I was running 300bhp and it was a nice big kick.

Yeah the reason I like the 3.2 is because of the sound of the engine

Your missing an option up there. If I was going to go big again, I would have a signum 2.8T.

As for the 3.2 Vs the 2.0t. Once the 2.0t is remapped it is on par with the 3.2, Until then the 3.2 will destroy it all day long. However, you can't do a lot to the 3.2 unless you spend stupid money.

The 2.8T can be mapped cheaper and would push the 300BHP barrier pretty quick and relatively cheap.

3.2 for the noise and smooth power delivery

2.0T for power and punch it will easily out tune the 3.2 for less

It depends what sort of drive you like

And I'd go for Vectra just like them better

    3.2
    Pros
: smooth, cache of a V6, linear power delivery
Cons: Thirsty, cam covers leak when oil breathers get blocked, takes ages to change spark plugs, relatively little scope for tuning, belt needs changing periodically

    2.0T
    Pros
: Significantly less thirsty, very smooth for a 4-cylinder, easilly tuneable, feels quicker in real world driving due to torque and BHP achieved at lower RPM, very reliable, spark plug change takes 4 minutes, reliable chain drive.
Cons: No cache of the badge
