Unfortunately its a trait of the f40 box. The VX remedy is to replace the gear box oil. Which is a very simple job and there is a how2 in the how 2 section.

I was told it was the f40 gear box when i took it to the garage under warante, they kept adjusting it, no better, then reverse started doing it, so i stood my ground and they replaced the clutch under warante, never had a crunch again!
