    Default H.I.D/Xenon Conversion - Confused

    Hey Guys,
I've jsut bought my vectra and straight away I wanted to change my standard bubls to H.I.D's
In my old astra I had a set of 6000k 35w and thought they were perfect.

After a bit of searching on the forum, and looking at the how-to I am now totally confused.

    - What have you guys gone for in your vectra's?
    - Does anyone have any pictures of there H.I.D/Xenons from the front and/or beam patterns?
    - What is the 'error code' that I've read a couple fo times in different threads
    - Is there a difference between H.I.D's and Xenons? Which is the ebtter option?

This is what I've been looking at, what do you think? Should I be looking at something different?

Yea thats the right kit for your car. The error codes is not so much a code but the bulb warning symbol that appears on the dash as the canbus bulb check finds the wrong resistance in the HID bulbs. Warning cancellers solve this as does having the HID setting switched on via Tech2 or Op Com. Even with cancellers fitted you will get strobing from the bulbs, when they are switched off, as the bulb check system does it thing. As before solved by having them fully activated or running with your headlights on all the time. HID's and Xenons are exactly the same thing. If you have a look in my profile and then my garage you will see a picture of my Hids working. The bulb pattern is exactly the same as a normal headlight bulb, there is no distortion as the Vectra has the correct eliptical headlights.

Think I'm going to order some H.I.Ds on Thursday when I get paid.
I would like to get some 6000k, 35w
Hopefully they will be easy to fit, and I will find a suitable place to mount the balast.
I'm also looking at getting some sidelights, these are what I'm looking at on eBay

Under the headlight in the recess where the factory fit one would usually go.

Them led side lights wont show up any errors but will strobe when off and car is running. That didn't bother me as you can just drive with the sidelights on all the time plus you can't really see them strobe during the day unless your looking for it.

Excellent, I can't decide whether to go for HIDS4U or CARMODSHOP/HIDS DIRECT (these are the same supplier apparently)

HIDS4US buy their kits from CARMODSHOP
HIDS Direct are a seperate outfit,.. and there's a LOT of stuff on here about them regarding aftersales being poor, me being one customer who would not use them again.

    HIDS4U are overly expensive.....

Whereas a site with a similar name - (that being HIDS4US) aren't so expensive.

And as Chewy says, HIDS4US & Carmodshop stock the same products.
