A few Brake pad question

I need to replace the brake pads on my 04 GSI, Am I right in thinking that they will either be 285mm or 314mm discs?

If so how do I know which ones are on my car and which pads to buy?
I've just rung Vaux parts and given them my Reg and they told me it could be either!!

I want to buy some EBC green stuff / red stuff pads but there are several types listed for my car so confused as to which ones I need.

So any help would be gladly received.

Pop wheel off and measure disc diameter

Did vaux not ask for chassis no. Easy way would be wheel off and measure them.

Measured mine with the wheel still in place. Depends on how much of the disc you can see between the spokes though.

Firstly, it's a choice between 302mm disks and 314mm ones, not 285. Secondly, the 302 calipers look very different, and are much smaller than, the 314 ones. The 314 ones look similar to the VXR's 345 caliper, so you can google that and compare with your own one. Thirdly, have a look at the table below, it lists the chassis number range for both sizes of disks on the GSi.
