    Post 3.0 diesel servicing

I know these engines are the most expensive to service but how much is it? So what will it cost for an interim service?
How much for a major service?
I'm not worried about going to the main dealers so just rough prices please

Has anyone had a cambelt changed on a 3.0v6 diesel? If so how much please

Also what oil does everyone use? off the shelf stuff or VX branded stuff?

    Many thanks everyone

ps. I did a search but couldn't find these answers

can't see anyone having had a 3ltr belted yet, they aren't that old yet..i'd be surprised if they have started changing them.

for oil, i buy VX's 5w30 longlife.. it's good stuff and realtivly cheap..

I beleive Harry has had his 3ltr serviced recently..

Yep - Mark is right, mine has recently been serviced. The 2d service at that which cost me £295 - which included a brake fluid change.

prior to taking in the car is was quoted £320 just for the service and an additional £35 for bleeding the brakes.

most expensive service vauxhall do is the 3ltr major service, isuzu rip them off for the parts apparently - which i can believe as i paid £32 just for the oil filter!

'tis indeed a warranty fix, get them to examine the anti roll bar links at the same time.. and the poss clunky rad mounts.

Exactly! it sounds just like it could be the anti roll bar twisting in its mounts. Will get it booked in as the missus uses it mostly with the little un on board, don't want anything falling off whilst she's driving.

Just called my local dealer, he told me £160 for interim service, £200 for major service and £315 for a cam belt - due 80000 miles or 8 years

My next service is free anyhow due to the mistakes made by the dealer when selling me the car - it broke down!

Those prices look a lot healthier! Slightly off topic but does anyone know if when you buy a car through Network Q if it is meant to be serviced (regardless of whether it is due or not)? I bought both my current and last Veccy at a similar age and mileage and my first one was serviced but this one wasn't and I wonder whether they should have done?

    Cheers

    Dave

Mine wasn't but it was serviced within 2000 miles of them selling it on. maybe it depends on how many miles it has done since the last service
