Vectra = Vs = Signum

Does anybody know approximately the percentage / numbers of Vauxhall / Opel Vectras sold compared to the Signums ?

Any age , shape or model , preface lift or facelift .

The answer may vary , depending what you choose .

1) On This Website

2) The Whole World

3) Europe

And also , where has the highest volume of Vecs and Sigs owned / sold .

If i'm lucky , i will try and get a voting poll working for this post .

Hmmm, what do you need this stats for? If you ask about whole Europe I can tell you that Veccy was second most popular mid-size car sold Poland. First was Passat of course. I cannot give you any numers but there's not many Sigs seen on streets comparing to Vectras. It was not very popular model. Very often I'm in Oslo and I need to say that I can barely percieve Vectras/Singums out there. There are some but not as much as in here.
And how's in UK? Since I joined this forum I have a feeling that it's quite popualr ride in UK

I have owned 3 vec's. But since being on here and seeing some amazing examples of Siggy's they have really made me think. The 2.8t would be my choice if I was going to get one. (Soulman is yours for sale lol)

i thought Signums were not that popular , well in my experience , i only seem to see about 2 - 3 a year around my area ... One of them was a reps car canvassing my streets doors .

and Vectras are like belly buttons , therefore keeping prices down .

but when i joined this forum , i realised quite a lot of people owned Signums ,, although you are bound to find Signum owners on a Vec / Signum site ...... l.o.l.

so it's just curiosity as to the percentage / number of Sigs to Vecs ...

And why do you think the Signum never really took off ( in percentage terms compared to the Vectra ) , as owners on here rave about theirs ....

is it because they are perceived smaller , less boot , a fridge or wine cooler replaced the rear middle seat or that the similar sized Astra / Zafira was preferred ?

I seem to remember they were aimed at executives , who sat in the back while being chaufuered , so were the Sig prices hiked up to reflect this " added " luxury and were to pricey for the average street bloke ?

They were in direct competition with Mercedes and BMW for the executive saloon/company car range. This is the market they were supposed to be aimed at.

if you contact Vauxhall customer care department they will happily provide you with the numbers of vehicles made/sold and even break them down into model and engine derivative ... there very very helpful

when i moved from the 2.0 to the 2.8 Siggy i was intested to find out how many V6's they had sold in the UK

they happily provided me with the salient info within 2 days!

I believe there will be far far more Vectra's than Signums around mate.

I also believe they were made at different factories with the Signum having a better build quality (dont know for sure never had one).

Also I dont think they did Signums in SRi spec believe they were design and elite spec (again could be wrong).

It's pretty hard to answer this question. I can tell you what I think from my perspective. Siggys always looked a bit odd to me. I prefer saloons or hatches (well, liftbacks) and don't like estates or estates-alike. So Vectra seems to be more proportional than Signum to me (long wheelbase and short boot). Yes I had some associations with Astra, Signum may look like bigger compact. What the other thinks, dunno Signum was also more expensive and too controversial to be a replacement for Omega IMO
