    Default urgent colege help

    right wondering if some of you guys can help me =)

    Basically i have an assignment that has asked about how cylinder heads are made the process involved an dmaterials used etc. . .

    i have written about how a mould is made and thencast and finally machined but its asking for an alternative method aswell

    anyone know of one i cant seem to find it anywhere, can your just machine it out of a block of ally? dont knw if you could machine the ports and that inside

    any help much appreciated

    i suppose you could produce a cylinder head from just one slab, there wouldnt really be any point to it and i dont know of it being used but it is possible

    I do a lot of cnc machining and it would be possible to machine a cylinder head from a solid block.. I have made some prototypes for pre castings any shape or profile can be machined from 2D or from 3D solid model CAD drawings... if the ports are not possible to be machined.. they can be spark eroded.... a method used with electrodes but this method would be far to expensive for mass production..
