Rubbing Drone noise front wheel

Hi got a 55 cdti 150. Noise coming from the drivers front wheel sounds like a cross between the tyre rubbing on something (checked it and its not!) and a droning noise. Noise only present at speeds above 20mph, around 50 and 60 noise not so bad but thats maybe wind drowning it out? I am guessing it will be the wheel bearing, tried jacking it up but there is no noticeable movement. Any other ideas if it may be something else? cheers

Sounds like wheel bearing

Try swapping the front tyres with each other and see if the noise moves to the other side. If that's the case, it'll be tyre noise.

Just what mine sounded like when the wheel bearing was running dry. Unfortunately, the lack of obvious movement with this type of bearing is by no means conclusive, gauges have to be used to determine the very small amounts of movement likely to be present.

As above, check tyre noise but also check just by rotating the wheel on each side while jacked up. With mine, it was easy to determine by that method alone which bearing was noisy.

Hopefully, the "How To" Mods will put up the "How To" I submitted last week on the procedure for changing them.
