I bought a new blank key off eBay in an auction for £15. They don't come up very often though. Got they key cut on eBay for £10 and programmed it myself. Better than £120 from the dealer!!

Have you got your car pass? The programmer will need it to code the transponder to the ECU.

When I originally talked about this in previous threads most people were getting quoted £90-120. you did well for £60. As I did it myself I only paid £25.

You will have to buy the car pass from Vauxhall dealers. You cant get it coded without it. Think it's £25 from them but I did hear some people on here getting it for £17. You'll probably need the V5 log book and I would imagine a form of ID to confirm you are the person on the V5.

He might be thinking he can clone the key but I think that can only be done with the older Vauxhall keys with the separate transponder. The newer keys that the vectra has the transponder and central locking as one. The keys can only be programmer once. Never tried cloning the old styles before.

The Old fobs could be coded as many times as you like because you just bought a new transponder. Did my mates vectra b this way. Bought a second hand key, coded the central locking on the fob, threw away the old transponder and inserted a new blank one and coded it. Got the key cut. Total cost £15 all in!!!
