Default hire car has gone and the vectra is......

    still in the body shop......

long story this i'm afraid folk..

now the car was rear ended on the 3rd of this month and after an inspection from myself it needed a new bumper, crash bar, numberplate and holder and have the exhaust checked due to it sitting inward more on the right hand side, this was all inspected/assesed and a dent in tailgate was added to my list and work was authorised about 10 days ago, there was a bit of confusion about the irmy rear diffuser but all was sorted i was led to believe.

after 2 previous calls from my ins company saying the car would be ready on thurs 19th and then on tues the 24th the car was actualy ready to collect today @ lunch time, went over organising the drop of of the hire car due to our car being repaired and 3rd party ins being informed i no longer needed one at there expense and when i got there to say i was speechless was an understatement

the tailgate had been re-painted what looked to be like through a seive due to the amount of orange peel there was there, the lower original irmy diffuser was refitted to the new bumper with bonding agent and then repainted as a whole thing leaving bonding agent not smoothed over just painted and it looked like a 5 year old had done it, the rear numberplate was new but the damaged holder was refitted and the lower holding trim superglued into place, no new badges were left even though i had informed the repairer what they were exactly (irmy ''I'' and bmw ''325'') making the I35 and to top it of the lower part of the diffuser was on a slant, checking this from under the car there had been NO NEW REAR CRASH BAR fitted and all the brackets holding the lower trim on were still bent, as you can imagine NOT A HAPPY BUNNY NOW...

exhaust was still twisted and they said they were not authorised to sort it out along with a few other bit's like the aftermarket plate holder that you just cant phone up vx to get hold of.

i left them with a list of things to sort out without a courtesy car from them as they didn't have any till tuesday fuming inside but with a calm looking outer

i was there in total about 2 hr's holding my head in my hands and trying soooo hard not to throttle anyone

so the saga continues and now i await a call from them to either come and inspect / collect the car or come and collect a courtesy car untill all issues are resolved.....

That's just not on, an apprentice could likely have made a better job of it than that - I'd get the insurers to send the assessor back to see the standard of the "completed" repair.

yes it is mate one of there many approved repairers, potentialy this could open a huge can of worms as the assessor stated on the report to the ins company ''new crashbar required'' and they didnt fit one, this was one of my major points to my insurer as i deem that to be fraudulent

rich I would get in touch with insurance company and tell them your not happy mate, after what you have said I can't believe an insurance approved repair centre would give you back a car with such poor workmanship

I wouldn't trust them to fix it, I'd be on phone demanding someone from insurance company to come out an inspect car !

as above don, i am led to believe the ins company is going out to assess the car on monday am, i have told them that i aint happy with this and after at least 5 calls this afternoon to the company dealing with my claim ''AI'' i think they get the idea i don't like being lied to and treated like an idiot

also notifying via way of either a very strongly worded letter or email adrian flux / AI / poss trading standards and the MD of the garage
