Default Astra VXR or Vectra VXR

Which one would you have? Which is the quickest, reliable etc. Just hopefully looking to purchase one back end of the year.

    no seriously -

most of this would be personal tastes as power is something that can be "metered" by mods to the engine and remaps etc...dependant on how deep your pockets are
the question you need to ask youself is do you want a large practical family car or a hot hatch ?

which is quickest as a basic run of the mill vehicles would be ....vectra Vxr 2.8v6 turbo 255/280 bhp dependant on age 0-60 7.9 vs Astra mk5 Vxr 2.0turbo 236bhp 0-62 6.2 seconds

this is where weight difference on the cars makes some significant impacts

my personal choice would be a sleeper Signum 2.8 V6 ...... oh but i've got one of those !

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

I personally thought the astra felt quicker and handled better. But I've only ever driven then on track days.

Wow, I thought the Vec was quicker than that.

I would still have a Vec VXR.

Says here the Vectra VXR is 6.1 secs 0-60 http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evoc...xhall_vxr.html and I can vouch for that as I owned one and it's rapid, even more so stage 1 map!

considering your on a forum with mostly vecs your going to get the vec as your answer but ask the same question on aon or another forum your likely to get a different set of answers ..in the end it's all down to personal taste ,,,,me i'd have neither but thats my opinion

The vectra C Gsi is 0-60 in 7 secs so fairly sure a vxr isn't 7.9 lol. the 255 version is supposed to be 6.5 so id imagin the 280 is somewhere around the same as the astra.

I'd personally take the vectra everytime, although the astra is slightly cheaper to run
