Default Vectra c (SRI) air con problem. Somebody save me please!!

    Hello all.
Took my car into the dreaded local V,hall dealership to get my aircon re-gassed. They price matched a cheap local garage so i figured they would do a pro job at half the cost. How wrong!
They told me i needed a new condensor and never regassed it. The bstds took my cash tho.
So they said £450 for a new condesnsor fitted and a seperate regass after. Took me a milly second to walk out of the showroom and try to find a local air-con specialist.
So i find my local dude who says he`ll have a look. Does a pressure check on it and says its not got a leak cos its not loosing pressure. So i tell him to re-gass it.
Well it was ice cold ish for a week, cold for another week and then by week 3 warm as toast!
When i put the air con on it sounds like an empty gas bottle vent being opened from below my dash. So i guess there is a leak and now im back to square 1 again. How can i get to the bottom of this problem without it costing the earth?
Any help at all will be severely appreciated. Im £120 out of pocket with it.
I`m West Lancashire based and open to any good reccommendation.
Cheers to you all in anticipation. HELP!!!

Personally I would call the bloke who regassed it and tell him its empty again! Then try somewhere else.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

The fella who re-gassed it said that if it lost the gas then he would knock it off the total cost if it did need a condensor. I dont trust any of them now tho.

Best bet is to buy a new condenser, you can get them for about £85 upwards

well .... welcome to the club.
Bought the car used and when it got hot for the first time this year the aircon was toast warm. So went to quikfit in Kingston who said that the compressor isnt coming on, meaning its gone.

Then was told on the forum here that it wont come on if there isnt enough gas in the system - so went to another quikfit and had it regased and it worked. Well for about 2 weeks.

Brought it back to the dealer where I bought it from and they apparently discovered a little leak, plugged and refilled it out of courtesy.
2 weeks later .... toast again.

Its going into vauxhall tomorrow to have it checked properly as I dont like being hot.

Will let you know what they say .....

    But my assumption is:

If it does work fully after a refill, no major parts can be broken such as the compressor or condensor .... so it must be a leak somewhere ....

Cheers for that mate. Is sounds just like mine. Let me know the outcome. You can carry on taking it here, there and everywhere when everyone of these garages gives a bit of different advice. But who do you believe at the end of the day.
So one minute my air con is working. Then i never used it over winter and first bit of hot weather and i turn mine on but warm air!
Then im told its a leak in condensor rad by Vauxhall. Then an independant fella says its holding the pressure. 3 weeks later im in the same boat. Warm air.

PS.. and im off to wembley tomoz and need some cooling in the car

Same symptoms. Been told I have a leak at a pipe joined to the rad, £140 will solve the problem for me, a garage has promised me.
