Default Crankshaft pulley / vaux world parts

vectra 2.2 dti elegance 2002 (52) saloon diesel

Ive posted a question on the crankshaft pulley replacement from ebay.
I was informed that there has been alot of discussion on this subject.
I have read every thread in the "search" on this subject.
    So my question is....
Obviously the OEM pulley is balanced ..It has 2 parts ( outer) and ( inner ) with a rubber membrane connecting the two pieces together.
Some aftermarket pulleys are not balanced and cause noise on idle with eventual degrading of bushes and bearings eventually fubar 'ng the engine...
There was reference to weight, the OEM weighed ALOT less ?????

The pulleys from VAUXHALL WORLD PARTS...........
Are they a solid pulley ( noise maker )..or do they have a rubber membrane...If solid then a return post and pack will be on the cards ...
if not are they worth taking a chance on, Im fitting it myself so no mechanics fees ...
    Parts prices......
Vauxhall main dealers ...£179 + vat
Vauxhall world parts...£80 ish inc vat..

Many thanks on taking the time to read this boring post.....Tosh

Why dont you ring the company and ask them before you purchase it?

You know my dealings with the non genuine vx pulley. Been there and forked out twice.

edit: Just read your earlier thread, that you already bought it. Like you say will have to send it back if the wrong weight.

    Thankyou Graham,
I have received the bottom pulley today as promised. Must admit, great service and post..Anyhoo as you stated it all depends on the weight. I ve had a look at the thing and there is rubber in between the two pieces and for a pulley it doesn't feel tooo heavy....Anyone know the weight of the OEM pulley to compare ?
    The one I recieved is 2175 grams.....Tosh

I see that the pulley is made by Bilstein. So not a genuine VX Part.
But they do make dam good shock assorbors B4 s

Sorry cant remember what the original weighed, Guess its take the old one off and compare.

Good luck, Keep us posted the outcome.

This looks just like the genuine part I bought yesterday. The pattern one I bought last time had hardly any rubber and was rubbish...never again!
BTW, started it today and had a 3' scaffold tube on the nut but no movement, any ideas?
