    Default help/advice needed (driveshafts)

Had an mot and service today, which went thro fine, but asked them to look at why my car shudders and the steering wheel shakes as had the wheels balanced but no joy in sorting this, they said me my driveshafts are gone, and they are expensive to buy as its a gsi, anyone heard this or used ones off say a 1.9cdti?? Any help would be much appreciated

What size are you wheels? And are you 100% they have been balances correctly 2 sets of sticky weights inside the rim. The amour of people who do not have there wheels balanced correctly is massive! A single set of weights placed somewhere on the rim is in correct! There should be 2 sets inside and outside. Have a look and double check

Pop over mate and we can check them out. Might not be drive shafts but inner/outer tie rod ends. Can swap wheels over from mine and see if it still happens. Either way we should be able to narrow it down a bit before you spend any money. I have a good friend as well who can get you some second user drive shafts as well

Could be Inner tie rod ends then, just about to do the same on mine.

£50 a pair for genuine VX inner
£30 a pair or less for outer ones

I normally pay about £80-100 to get either changed (pair) which includes 4 wheel laser alignment

Good stuff, just with being a tyre fitter for many years I have become pernicity as hell to having mine balanced! I even tought the manager at my last job how to do it. Until I took his job off him
